To portray the melancholy truth that their life is their work, the concept of this design is to depict the usually joyous occasion of a retirement party as cold and corporate. Reminded that their freedom is ticking away with a real-time clock and the sun setting outside, the play ends with a white-wash, silhouetting the man who realizes it is too late.
Never Missed a Day - Set Designer. New York Workshop Theater, NYC. World premiere of play. Collaboration with lighting designer to achieve desired effects through the translucent walls. Minimal budget for materials, furniture and props.
