Social Action Simulations: Developing Social Conscience Through Role-Play and Choice-Making - Designer and Developer. MFA Thesis submitted to The University of the Arts in partial fullfilment of the degree of Museum Exhibition Planning and Design. Thesis includes research and a project application.
The thesis explores the use of social action simulations in museums. Using role-play to explore challenging subjects, both in a museum program and its bookend classroom activities, social action simulations strive to increase social conscience and promote global citizenship among teen audiences. The project design is an exhibition program, entitled Myanmar Migrations, that uses simulation and role-play to develop empathy for Burmese Karen refugees.
